After being closed since 2019, Christ Church Community Museum is opening for the 2022 season on July 1st. We will welcome visitors every afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm until September 5th.
It has been a busy time the last while with outside masonry repair work being done with the rest of the project to be completed in 2023. This summer there will be an exhibit of the early industries of Lakefield, plus one of our DVDs is about industries. Another display will have Catharine Parr Traill’s botanical work and writings. A third display will have information about Rev Henry Wolsely, who preached prior to Christ Church being built when citizens were meeting in their homes and Rev Percy Warren, the first incumbent. And a fourth display will be about the architect Kivas Tully and also an exhibit about the very old chert drill artifact found in the mortar during the stonework repairs.
There will be 3 communion services this summer with the first one on July 3rd at 8:30 a.m. The other services are July 31st and September 4th.
