 Marriage Preparation

The bride and groom are expected to attend a marriage preparation course prior to the wedding.  Your decision to be married is more than the plans for the wedding day.  There is always something new to discover about each other and your relationship.  As individual couples, this recommended course is an excellent and professional venue for you to explore what is important in a relationship.  We recommend the Marriage Preparation Course offered by Humanitas.  The web site is www.marriageprep.com  The 2008 dates and locations are advertised on the site.  You can register and pay online.  If you would prefer, you can call the Office Registrar at 905-841-3173.

Couples who have taken this course have given positive feedback about the experience.

Order of Service

If an Order of Service leaflet is required it may be produced by the church or an outside printer. If it is produced by any printer other than the church please show the outline to the Priest before they are printed.

Liturgy

Discuss with the Priest the form of service and any prayer requests to be used, e.g. Holy Eucharist.

Readings & Prayers

The readings, special prayers etc should be discussed with the Priest in Charge.

Hymns

The Priest needs to be informed of your choice of hymns & songs ahead of time.

Music

The church has a listing of organists who would be available to play at the wedding. The bride & groom should arrange for an organist, small group, singer etc.  The decision should be discussed with the Priest.  Recorded music and DJ’s are not permitted.

Church Preparation

The wedding coordinator should be informed of any special requests e.g. Unity Candles, bows etc.

Photos and Videos

Photos and videos are allowed during the service providing there is no flash and the photographer stays in one position and does not move around the church during the service. Photographers will be given an opportunity to move closer to take photos during the signing of the register or after the service.

Confetti

Confetti is not permitted on church property – this includes rice, paper and biodegradable confetti as it stains the pathway. Bubbles are permitted.

Flowers

It is the responsibility of the bride & groom to arrange for ordering and arrangement of the flowers for the church. The Wedding coordinator should be informed of the time the florist will be delivering and arranging the flowers.

The Groom

On the day of the wedding the groom and the best man need to arrive at the church  30 minutes before the wedding is scheduled to begin. You will meet the Priest in the office and will be escorted to the church at the appropriate time

The Bride

When the bride arrives at the church she should remain in the car until the wedding coordinator meets her. This is to ensure that she does not see the Groom before the service.

The bride & groom are invited to worship with us on Sundays
