An Evening with Renowned Canadian Photographer Edward Burtynsky

All are invited to Lakefield College School on Tuesday, November 3, for a special evening with internationally renowned Canadian photographer and 2026 Jack Matthews Fellow Edward Burtynsky. This free event is presented in partnership with Trent University and the Canadian Canoe Museum.

One of Canada's most celebrated contemporary photographers, Burtynsky has spent more than four decades capturing extraordinary images of landscapes transformed by human activity. From vast mines and quarries to industrial waterways and oil fields, his work reveals both the beauty and consequences of our relationship with the natural world. Exhibited in leading galleries and museums around the globe, Burtynsky’s photography asks observers to consider important questions about resources, consumption and sustainability.

Burtynsky will share his photography and perspectives, followed by a Q&A with Kim Blackwell P’24, Managing Artistic Director of 4th Line Theatre. The evening also marks an exciting milestone: the first public event in the newly opened Hepburn Hall.

This free event is open to the public but advance registration is required. For more information, and to register, click here.
