Saying Goodbye to Rev. Peter Gachira

There are different chapters in the life of every church, and St John’s is turning the page on a new one with the imminent departure of our Priest, Rev. Peter Gachira.

Rev. Peter has guided our church for several years, joining us at the onset of the pandemic as churches across Canada were plunged into a time of turmoil. We greatly appreciate his leadership, patience, and generosity in shepherding us through that uncertain period and wish him well as he relocates to the States.

While Rev. Peter will remain in office until the end of August, his last Sunday service will take place on August 27th at 10am. We hope you can join us for that special service of healing and renewal.

We’re also hosting a goodbye lunch the day before, which will take place at noon in the church hall. All are welcome to come and share their stories of meeting and getting to know Rev. Peter.

As we move into the next stage of St John’s journey, we’ll do our best to keep everyone informed on the process of selecting a new incumbent. Please watch your inbox and our Facebook page for any updates.

And please join us in praying for Rev. Peter and his new wife, Pauline, as they begin their new life together.
